Welcome!

This website is a platform for learning and interaction. You may wish to know more about me, peruse some activities I have worked on with past classes, or access important information for my current classes.

I invite you to explore and get to know me better!

  • I am Mr. Campbell, a fifth grade classroom teacher since 2022. I bring a wealth of experiences to the classroom from my many years of working with students of all ages via tutoring, summer camps, and substitute teaching.

I enjoy learning from every opportunity that I am given.
The world around us in a wellspring of knowledge.

  • I fervently support the integration of Science Technology Engineering and Math throughout the educational spectrum. Developing stills compatible with these disciplines supports complex problem solving and interdisciplinary thinking.

  • If you are here as a student or family member of my current class, I welcome you to join using the password provided in my onboarding email. Students are also sent home with a paper copy of this on the first day.

My Guiding Principles

These six principles guide my teaching practices across all fields.

Making learning Relevant and Authentic
- Linking lessons to real-world phenomena, careers, or issues provides students with a goal that can feel more relevant.

Integrate Disciplines Thoughtfully
- Carefully mimicking real world problems that reflect and array of disciplinary knowledge to address reinforces the idea that individual strengths can be applied in may ways, and that diversifying knowledge can help problem solve long-term.

Develop Future-Ready Skills
- Building skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and technological literacy prepare students with skills they will need throughout their lives, personally or professionally.

Foster Equity and Accessibility
- Leveling the bar of entry for students of all abilities and backgrounds encourages diversity in both community and problem solving. This strongly supports students’ critical thinking and equitable ethics skills.

Encourage Cross-Disciplinary Connections
- Creating distinct connections between fields of thought or learning enables students to more easily identify where cross-disciplinary application could aid in problem solving.

Provide Scaffolding and Flexibility
- Not all students share the same background knowledge, enthusiasm, or initial abilities. Providing supports in a way that encourages growth attempts to provide each student with structure that fits their individual needs.
